How to Apply


OPTION 1

STEP 1 (a) - Apply - if you are paying through Ezpay+ (paying with a credit card, debit card or mMoney)

To apply and submit the application online:

  1. Go to "www.gov.bb".
  2. Scroll down and click "Ezpay+" on the top banner.
  3. Click "Create an account".
  4. Fill out the form.
  5. Click "Agree to the terms and conditions" at the bottom of the form.
  6. Click "Submit".
  7. Once registration is successful, an email will be sent to the email address you provided requesting you to validate your email address. Please read the information on Ezpay+ before clicking the link to confirm email address.
  8. After clicking the link the Ezpay+ dashboard appears. You will be required to “Login”. Enter username and password.
  9. Once your login is successful the Ezpay+ dashboard appears.
  10. Click "Police certificate of character” icon".
  11. Choose the service being applied for. (Either Police certificate of character or Fingerprints only).
  12. Click "Apply now".
  13. Complete the application form for Police Certificate of Character or Fingerprints only.
  14. Choose your preferred collection date and time. This should be four (4) days after submission date.
  15. Click "Submit".
  16. Click “Add to cart”.
  17. Go to cart, click 'Pay now'.
  18. Choose payment option (direct debit (3 working days), credit card (instant) or MMoney (instant).
  19. You will receive an email receipt with your transaction number, service paid for, amount paid and date.
  20. You will receive confirmation of the collection date and a copy of the completed Police Certificate of Character application form.
  21. Please print receipt and take to the Police Certificate of Character office.


OPTION 2

STEP 1 (b) - Apply if you paying at the Post Office (cash only)

  1. Go to www.gov.bb or www.facebook.com/royal.barbados.police.force/ and click on the link to the Police Certificate of Character online application form.
  2. Complete the application form.
  3. Choose your preferred collection date and time. This should be four (4) days after submission date.
  4. Click "Submit".
  5. You will receive confirmation of the collection date and a copy of the completed Police Certificate of Character application form.
  6. Print the completed application form and take to the nearest Post Office and pay the fee.
  7. You will receive a receipt that you must take with you on your appointment date to the Police Certificate of Character office. (in discussion with Post Office to eliminate the printing component and allow scanning of mobile device).

STEP 2 – Interview - Issuing of Police Certificate of Character

Visit the Police Certificate of Character Office located at "Inga Lodge" Pinfold Street, Bridgetown on your chosen collection date. Remember, you must take your Barbados Identification card (preferred), or a valid passport or valid driver's licence and the payment receipt. If you are collecting on behalf of someone, in addition to the payment receipt, you need to take a valid form of identification of yourself.


STEP 3 - Process - Certificate of Character Office

  • Fingerprints may be taken.
  • Biographical data will be verified.

Processing time is 4 (four) working days. However, if there are issues verifying your information, the process may take longer.
